Kimberly Joy (she/they) is an actor and writer based in Los Angeles. Originally from New York City, she received her BA in Theatre from Northwestern University. She also trained at BADA/Yale School of Drama’s Midsummer in Oxford Conservatory and was a Williamstown Theatre Festival Acting Apprentice.

Kimberly began her career in Off-Broadway and Regional theatre productions and has worked with artists like Rebecca Taichman, Sarah Ruhl, and David Catlin. Kimberly’s recent film credits include Take Me To Tarzana (dir. Maceo Greenberg) and It’s What’s on the Inside (dir. Eddie Vigil V). She currently studies at Zak Barnett Studios.

She also writes poetry, prose, and screenplays and once got a joke on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Her debut poetry collection, Giving & Taking, was published in August 2021. Her poetry has been featured in Elle Leva Magazine, Rebelle Society, and Harness Magazine. You can find more of her writing on her blog and Instagram.

Kimberly is deeply interested in developing and telling stories that focus on mental health, interpersonal trauma, and how we heal from generational wounds and break cycles of abuse.
